Achievements of 125 HIGH SCHOOL ALMATY -1

125 High school students organized a charity event on Friday. Each student brought different food from home. During the break, they sold it to other students and teachers of the school. The proceeds were offered to help a disadvantaged family. The fair was very interesting. Children organized an auction and bought sweets at high prices. For example, pies started at 500 tenge. The teachers valued the pie at the auction for 7000 tenge. Some of the best students created a “Heart to Heart” photo corner, where students and teachers had to pay 200 tenge for each photo taken.

Azamat Baybol, 11th-grade student:

We had different food in our class. Everyone participated as much as they could. The girls brought bagels, qurt, and various pies. The boys brought qymyz. I did not cook myself. But I brought special qymyz. I think everyone liked it. I came to school this year. I did not expect that this event would be so interesting. I can’t say for sure that it will continue in the future. It would be nice if it continued. It’s uplifting. Charity is one of the greatest rewards. Classmates get to know each other. Teachers see students from a different angle. There were three boys and one girl salespeople in the class. Each class was well prepared. The sale was not easy either. We sent the collected money to families and orphanages in difficult situations.

Aigerim Nurbekova, 11th-grade student:

We baked buns, pizza, and cupcakes for the fair. There also was a fruit salad. We baked cookies on New Year’s Eve. This month is Health Month at school, that’s why we prepared healthy meal. We did not sell any soda. My mother helped me. We both baked buns in the oven. In our school, apart from education, there are a lot of educational and friendly events for people. This charity event was organized by the school administration. And it will continue in the future. There are people among us who need help. It is our duty to help them. During the event, I learned that there are many strong children in the class. Everyone was helping each other. Apart from school teachers and students, people from outside came to shop. We sold all the food in a 10-minute break. We did not even have time to count the money received. I was happy that the food was sold so quickly.
